CSI degree program is designed to prepare students for careers in the real world. Coursework has a concentration on career-focused knowledge and skills in computer network technology.
The A.A.S. in Network Systems Administration (NSA) prepares students as network systems administrators who can design, install, and support an organization's LAN (local-area network), network segment, Internet, or intranet system. Network systems administrators provide day-to-day on-site administrative support for software users in a variety of work environments, including professional offices, small businesses, government, and large corporations. They maintain network hardware and software, analyze problems, and monitor the network to ensure its availability to system users. These professionals gather data to identify customer needs and then use that information to identify, interpret, and evaluate system and network requirements. Network systems administrators also plan, coordinate, and implement network security measures.
The program provides essential practice with system support tasks and procedures measured by certification exams and in real-world work situations.
Along with the technical portions of this training, students in the NSA program will gain a solid foundation in general education through classes designed to strengthen their competitiveness in job searches and promote success in IT careers upon graduation.
