F-1 or M-1 International Student at CSI

The Institute welcomes students from all over the world regardless of race, sex, language, nationality, religion or political ideology. Any student who is not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States and its territories will be considered an international student. All international students transferring from another U.S. institution or coming directly from abroad are encouraged to contact a CSI Career Advisor at 847.967.5030 as soon as they decide to study at CSI. In addition to the standard requirements, international student applicants must complete the following steps before they are accepted for admission at CSI and an I-20 is issued:
  • Submit CSI online International Student Application for Admission with $250 non-refundable processing fee and $1,500 tuition down payment. The partial tuition down payment will be refunded within thirty days after the written request for a refund is made and the original I-20 visa issued to the applicant is returned to the Institute unused.
  • Submit an Affidavit of Support from a bank, parent, guardian, sponsor or government agency. The student must have sufficient funds available for self-support during the entire course of study.
  • Submit original and English translations of official transcripts from secondary schools and colleges attended.

CSI accepts payments made by a certified check or money order drawn on a U.S. bank and payable in U.S. dollars or by a credit card.

International transfer students already in the U.S. should also obtain a transfer release form from the school in which they are currently enrolled. CSI Transfer Form (PDF).

The Institute will issue an I-20 visa upon the receipt of all necessary documents and funds as described above.

Upon arrival in Chicago, students coming from abroad should immediately contact the international student advisor to arrange for classes and other necessary matters. The Institute does not have dormitories and students must make their own traveling and housing arrangements.

For more information on International Students visa processing, please refer to SEVIS - Student and Exchange Visitor Information System.
